Every Grind Has A Story

It all started in high school at Varina High in Richmond, Virginia. Maurice Canady played a multitude of positions, one being Wide Receiver. The experience as a wideout helped him become the player that he is today.

Formerly being a wide receiver gave Maurice an advantage in the film room. Understanding receivers routes expeditiously increased his aptitude as a Cornerback.

After high school Maurice attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. During his four year tenure at Virginia, Canady started 33 of the 44 games he was available. In those games, he recorded 148 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and five interceptions. Canady was a proven playmaker for the Cavaliers as he forced 10 turnovers, one for which was returned for a touchdown.

Canady was drafted by the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round, 209th overall, in the 2016 NFL Draft. He currently plays for the NFL’s New York Jets.
